Volunteer for a girls brigade night.

All girls brigade companies are constantly looking for volunteers on their meeting night. At present we are limited in the activites that we can do with the children (and young people) due to shortages of volunteers.

What is required of me if I volunteer?

You have to be willing to give up 1 night a week (during school weeks only) and the 1st sunday morning of every month. Thats it. You don't require any training, nor do you need to have been a member of the organisation in the past.

What does it involve?

You could be doing a variety of activites from one week to the next, so be prepared for anything. You will also be working with children of mixed abilites, and so need to patient.

Volunteers for Badge work.

As well as volunteers on a company night, we also look for people who have any skills or interests and are willing to share them with the girls.

What do Is require?

You only have to be willing to give up your time for a few nights. You will however have to teach or display to the girls your skill or interest. You will be working with girls of mixed abilitys and will need to keep that in mind.

What does it involve?

Not a lot. You will need to be patient, and be able to teach to the children in a way that will keep them entertained.

We are always looking for new members to join GB. You only need to be between the ages of 4 and 21.

Finance

Our company runs a tuck shop as well as selling some things that the girls have made on a Wednesday. By buying these products you are contributing to our company. This money goes into our kittty and allows us to buy equipmant and resources for the girls on a Wednesday night. It also allows us to organise the odd trip out with the girls!
